Thomas J. Merkel SJ serves as the President of the Gregorian University Foundation effective August 1, 2024 - present.  Previously, he held positions of Assistant VP for University Relations at Creighton University (2016-2024) and President of Creighton Preparatory School (2003-2012).  He was ordained to the priesthood on June 13, 1997.  He holds advanced degrees in Philosophy, Theology, Educational Leadership and Philanthropic Studies.
